Doctoral Students
Clara de Coëtlogon Claveau
Clara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), where she wrote her thesis on the JADIS project. This project aimed to examine the relationship between attention and social discrimination. Based on this experience, Clara will begin her Ph.D. in Psychology at UQAM under the supervision of Francesca Capozzi. Her research interests focus on interpersonal relationships and social attention, and her doctoral research project will explore the role of expertise and attentional engagement in interpersonal accuracy.

Laeticia Fatima Gibbs

Laeticia obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), during which she completed her honors thesis in the laboratory focusing on the impact of coordinated attention on altruistic behavior between genders (JADIS). Laeticia is beginning her doctorate in psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D.) at UQAM under the supervision of Francesca Capozzi. Her research will focus on gender issues, specifically its exploration and performance within the LGBTQIA+ community. Laeticia is also involved in the PARLA research project, which explores parents’ experiences of accepting their gender-diverse children through language, and GENCA, which focuses on the impact of gendered perception on the attribution of gender stereotypes, as well as the CORE vulgarization project.
Juliette Careau
Juliette obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology, followed by a master’s in mental health, at McGill University. She is currently beginning her doctorate in psychology (Psy.D.) at UQAM under the supervision of Francesca Capozzi. Her doctoral project will qualitatively explore the therapeutic journey of participants in a group therapy focused on emotional regulation, framed within the minority stress model, among individuals identifying as LGBTQ+. She also contributes to the qualitative aspect of the PARLA research project, which explores the experiences of parents of trans* and gender-nonconforming individuals in a group therapy focused on their understanding and acceptance of their children’s experiences.

Annika Rozéfort

Annika holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Montreal (UdeM). She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology (D.psy) at UQAM under the supervision of Francesca Capozzi. Her research interests revolve around dyadic relationships within couples and families. More specifically, she is interested in sexuality, relationship dynamics, and communication between romantic partners. Her doctoral research project focuses on the RESCO project and aims to explore the role of eye contact in conveying partners’ responsiveness across cultural differences. Annika is also the research coordinator of the CORE lab.
Honor students
Béatrice Hillier Rodrigue
Béatrice is a second-year undergraduate student in Psychology at McGill University. This year, she is working in the Lab on her honours thesis, which focuses on the qualitative component of the PARLA project. This project aims to evaluate the quality of group therapy offered by MUSIC to parents of trans and non-binary children. She is particularly interested in the clinical aspect of psychology, and thus her research interests include psychopathology, treatments for psychological disorders and interpersonal relationships.

Research assistants and internships
Juliette Blain

Juliette is currently in her first year of a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She joined the CORE laboratory as a research assistant for the FORMA project in spring 2025. This project focuses on the role of attention in the formation of first impressions during social interactions. Her research interests are diverse, including perception in neuroatypical individuals, non-verbal communication and relational dynamics in couples and between genders.
Sara-Maude Paquette
Sara-Maude Paquette is a second-year undergraduate student in Psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She is involved as a research assistant in the CORE laboratory, where she has been contributing to the RESCO project since fall 2025 under the supervision of Annika Rozéfort. Her research interests include romantic relationships, nonverbal communication and behavior, parasocial dynamics, and a range of psycholegal issues.

Amélia Lefebvre

Amélia is currently in her third year of a bachelor’s degree in psychology at UQAM. Having previously worked on the FORMA project, she is now part of the CORE laboratory as a research assistant for the CAPTE project, which examines interpersonal accuracy and its underlying mechanisms. Her research interests are diverse and include social interactions, interpersonal relationships, and, more specifically, contemporary theories of love and couple dynamics.
